Edwin Berg (Oss, 11 december 1972) is een Nederlands jazz-pianist en componist. 
Hij begon op zijn negende met piano spelen en won als solist in 1991 de 1e prijs van het Yamaha Clavinova. 
Dat jaar werd hij, na het afronden van het VWO, toegelaten tot het muziekconservatorium in Utrecht, 
om klassieke muziek en jazz te studeren. Docenten waren onder meer pianisten Bert van den Brink 
(voormalig pianist van Dee Dee Bridgewater), Jasper van het Hof, Alexander Warenberg en Michiel Borstlap. 

Het Edwin Berg Trio bestaat uit hemzelf aan de piano, Eric Surmenian op bas en Fred Jeanne op slagwerk. 
Het idee voor deze groep ontstond toen de Franse bassist Eric Surmenian, 
Edwin in contact bracht met slagwerker Fred Jeanne.  

Simply Vol. II, that is the clear will to point this CD as the natural evolution of Perpetuum (Bee Jazz-2009), 
the enjoyed debut album of the Edwin Berg Trio. Registered in the sophisticated studio of La Buissonne by Gerard de Haro, 
Vol. II has a proven mix of original compositions and standard rewrights through an approach that we could define, 
as a minimalist for the economy of notes and descriptive essence, but also with several elements of expressive exuberance.
The initial "Meditatie" and the concluding "Edelweiss", as a melancholic, fragile and pure plan like a crystal of Bohemia, 
are the extremes of this approach that encapsulates a range of sound settings, however rich and varied. "Quatters", for example, 
refers to Jarrett's seventies for the songwriting of the theme and the folkloric contents. "Carrousel" is rhythm, color, 
tone exuberance, divertissement, play, irony, blended with a sort of Anglo-Saxon style understatement, 
while "The Trois soeurs de Salamanca" is a ballad looking to mid-east sunsets...
