De inmiddels 51-jarige Andreas Vollenweider mag zich gerust een van de eerste new age-supersterren noemen. Op zijn eerste solo album ('Behind the Gardens - Behind the Wall - Under the Tree' uit 1982 laveert Vollenweider tussen sfeervolle en rimische new age en lichtvoetige jazz, met een hoofdrol voor de elektrische harp.
