Tony Rebel, the man responsible for putting together the hottest lineup of of
reggae performers for the yearly Rebel Salute festival, held in Jamaica, which
consistently delivers an electric, socially aware event that draws thousands of
people internationally, also bridges the historic divide between roots and
dancehall. With a positive message that teaches universal love, peace, and
justice, the 2004 show was once again a collage of the finest performers both
local and abroad. The roots dancehall performers were exemplary of this
excellence, including the controversial, lyrically audacious Sizzla, the
sophisticated intelligence of Queen Ifrica, and the strong wisdom of Capleton.
Also making an appearance are Chuck Fender, Charlie Chaplin, U Roy, Gentleman,
Josey Wales, and Lady Saw.
