After Jeremy Clarkson failed to have his contract renewed by the BBC after a physical altercation with a fellow employee, long time friends and co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May decided it was in their best interests to leave Top Gear (2002) as well. Amazon quickly set out to acquire the popular trio, and made a deal with their streaming service. The show will premiere fall (autumn) of 2016, and will be accessed exclusively on Amazon Prime.
