Pink Floyd
The Later Years

The Later Years is een box van de Britse rockband Pink Floyd die 
op 13 december 2019 is uitgebracht door Pink Floyd Records. Het 
volgt de boxset uit 2016 The Early Years 1965–1972 en bundelt 
het werk van Pink Floyd onder leiding van David Gilmour na het 
vertrek van stichtend lid Roger Waters. The Later Years bevat een 
geremixte versie van A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987), met 
herstelde bijdragen van toetsenist Richard Wright en nieuwe bij-
dragen van drummer Nick Mason , om "het creatieve evenwicht 
tussen de drie Pink Floyd-leden te herstellen".  Het bevat ook sur-
round sound- mixen van A Momentary Lapse of Reason , The Divi-
sion Bell (1994) en The Endless River (2014), de laatste vergezeld 
van een film van Ian Emes . Ook inbegrepen is een uitgebreide ver-
sie van het live album Delicate Sound of Thunder uit 1988 met ex-
tra tracks; opnieuw bewerkte versies van de concertfilms Delicate 
Sound of Thunder (1989) en Pulse (1995); een live-opname van 
Pink Floyd's hoofdoptreden tijdens het liefdadigheidsconcert van 
Knebworth 1990; een niet eerder uitgebrachte concertfilm van 
Pink Floyd's optreden in Venetië; 5.1 surround sound-mixen en 
stereomixen met hoge resolutie; enkele B-kanten; demo's van The 
Division Bell- sessies; en memorabilia. Op 30 oktober 2019 maak-
te Pink Floyd bekend dat de boxset-editie vanaf 29 november was 
uitgesteld. Op 29 november 2019 werd een single-disc-compilatie 
van "hoogtepunten" uit de boxset, The Later Years: 1987–2019, 
uitgebracht.
