In 'Zoolander 2' keert Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), 's werelds knapste model aller tijden, terug. Nu, dik tien jaar later, is hij aardig aan lager wal geraakt. Net als zijn voormalige concurrent Hansel (Owen Wilson) overigens, met wie hij zich nu bespottelijk laat maken in goedkope tv-shows. Hun kansen keren als interpol een beroep op ze doet: Zoolander en Hansel moeten andermaal modegod en superschurk Mugatu (Will Ferrell) zien in te rekenen.
