Omschrijving
Folk, Country, Maghreb Pop (?)
An extraordinary talent, born James Wesley Voight in the Yonkers area of New York, veteran Americana singer-songwriter Chip Taylor has been writing songs and recording for over six decades now.
Taylor has enjoyed many eras and arenas in the music industry (Nashville producer, musician and recording act – Chet Atkins was an early champion of his work) from his early days, writing much loved hits (for others) Wild Thing, Angel Of The Morning, I Can’t Let Go and (Try) Just A Little Bit Harder, Anyway That You Want Me etc.
From originally recording as part of a trio before to his solo career in Nashville, writing and recording albums, he also had a lucrative sideline ‘playing the ponies’ even giving up on music to become a Professional Gambler, eventually being drawn back to music in 1995, touring with John Platania, David Mansfield, and Carrie Rodriguez as well as solo tours across Europe.
Then we have him, today in 2025, still making records (he’s recorded six since Covid!).
Now, he’s releasing a triple, which isn’t an unknown from Taylor, since he released Little Prayers Trilogy set in 2014.
His most previous album, Behind The Sky was made after he had experienced harrowing treatment for throat cancer, and this trilogy was made during his remission.
