Vale Tudo (English: anything goes) is a full-contact combat sport, with a very limited number of rules, that became popular in Brazil during the 20th century.
Vale Tudo uses techniques from a variety of different martial art styles and is considered a precursor to modern mixed martial arts.

Vale Tudo Japan (VTJ) was an annual mixed martial arts competition held in Japan.
Arranged by promotor Satoru Sayama, it ran from 1994 to 1999 and unlike similar events from the period, featured fighters from all over the world.
