Il giovane Montalbano (AKA The Young Montalbano) is een Italiaanse misdaadserie van de zender Rai 1. De serie ging in première in 2012.
Salvatore Montalbano, een getalenteerde jonge politieman, wordt gepromoveerd tot commissaris en getransfereerd naar Vigata. Daar krijgt hij de leiding over een groep agenten onder wie een agent die veel ouder is en een iet wat 'aparte' Siciliaan, Catarella.

Montalbano is now well set in his new role, acquiring more traditional habits, but nevertheless is plagued by nightmares about the death of his loved ones. Meanwhile, the station acquires a new young policeman, Giuseppe Fazio, recently graduated from the Academy and ready to follow his leader, even if his youth leads him to first clash with the grumpy Inspector.
